Houston Tamil Studies Chair and Tamil Virtual Academy Sign MoU to Launch Online Tamil School.

        The Houston Tamil Studies Chair (HTSC) has officially partnered with the Tamil Virtual Academy (TVA) through a Memorandum of Understanding to serve as a Tamil school online facilitator. This partnership enables HTSC to offer TVA’s online Tamil language courses to high school students (Grades 9–12) across the U.S.

About the Program
        TVA, an autonomous institution established by the Government of Tamil Nadu, offers academic programs in Tamil language, literature, and culture. These programs lead to recognized Certificates, Diplomas, and Degrees.

        Through this partnership, students can enroll in the Advanced Level Certificate Course, and upon successful completion, they will receive certificates directly from TVA.

Eligibility for Advanced Level Course

       • Students must have graduated from 8th grade in a registered Tamil school or either passed the TVA Intermediate Level.

         HTSC will support the enrollment process and help students attend the online classes.

Course Schedule

        • Preparation classes begin: September 15th
        • Time: Every Sunday, 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM (CT)
        • Registered students will receive Zoom meeting details via email upon completing the registration.

Exam Information

        • Exam Month: April, 2026
        • Exam Fee: $15 per certificate, payable to TVA
